REGISTRATION FOR 2010
St Dominic's GAA club registration/ annual membership takes place on this Sunday 28th Feberuary in Culleen hall from 5-7pm. All players must be registered before participating with their respective teams. Parents of underage players must attend. Team managers are requested to instruct players to attend. Registration rates for this Year are FAMILY - €100 ADULTS - €50 STUDENTS - €30 UNDER 18s - €25
SCOR SINSEAR
Following another very successful year for St Dominic’s in the Scor Na nOg competitions, we now look to our over 17’s to take part in Scór Sinsear! Anyone wishing to represent the Club in figure dancing, solo singing, recitation/story telling, instrumental music, ballad group, question time, novelty act and set dancing please contact any member of the Scor committee or Sylvia on 086 770 2068. The Scor Sinsear county semi finals take place on Friday, 26 th February, and Sunday, 28 th February. Successful competitors from the semi-finals will go on to contest the Scór Sinsear county final on Saturday, 6 th March.
The 2010 Seachtain na Gaeilge quiz takes place on this Wednesday 24th February in Kilbride Community Centre at 8pm sharp.
Teams of 4 members. All questions will be as Gaeilge and there is no age limit. Clubs are entitled to enter two teams if they so wish. Entries to be sent to Thomas Murray by email ( thomasmurray07@gmail.com) or by text to (086) 3853804. There is no cost for entering teams.
It is important that our club is represented on the night.
As part of our promotion of the Irish language, Coiste Scór Roscomáin are offering a number of grants to students who wish to improve their knowledge of the Irish language.
Applications are invited from students who competed in the County Scór na nÓg competitions in 2010 (October ‘09 – January ‘10). Each grant is worth €200. Students are to apply with a short essay as Gaeilge (300 words) titled “Scór” plus an application form. Application forms are available from the club cultural officer, Thomas Murray.
Completed applications should be forwarded to Diane Ní Duinneacha, Oifigeach Cultúr agus Gaeilge, Roscommon County Board Office, 5 Castle View, Castle Street, Roscommon on or before Friday 5th March 2010 LATEST.
Please note that any person who was successful last year in receiving a scholarship from Coiste Scór Roscomáin will not be eligible this year.

SENIOR FOOTBALL
Training for all our Senior and Junior Players will take place on Wed and Friday Night. The first League Game of the Year will take place this Sunday 28 th Feb against Michael Glaveys in Ballinlough at 1pm.
MINOR and U-16 FOOTBALL TRAINING
Training for all our Minor and U-16 Players will take place this Wed Evening fror 7-8pm.
U-16 FOOTBALL LEAGUE
We commence our U-16 League on this Sunday 28 th Feb against Eire Og in Loughglynn at 12 Noon.
LADIES FOOTBALL
U-16 training will take place on Tuesday evenings from 6.30-7.30pm from here on. It was great to see so many girls out training this week and it is important that this continues. First game is away to Oran this Sunday Feb 28th at 4pm
SENIOR HURLING TRAINING
Training for all our Senior and Junior Players will take place on Tuesday and Thursday Night from 8-9pm. All Players please attend.
JIM GANNON R.I.P.
The Death occurred of Jim Gannon at the Weekend after a short illness. Jim served as Secretary and also as Treasurer of our Club from the mid to late Eighties. Originally from Charlestown in Mayo he quickly became involved in local Organisations on his arrival to Knockcroghery approx 35 Years ago. All his Family were also very much involved in the Club with his Wife Kathleen and Daughter Mary playing Camogie and his Sons Damian and Dermot playing Senior Hurling and Football for Dominics. The Club formed a Guard of Honour at the Funeral on Sunday Evening. May he rest in Peace.
