SENIOR/JUNIOR FOOTBALL
No Games this coming Week so it is just a matter of keeping the engines humming in preparation for the upcoming Championship.
Our U-10s are doing well in the Oran Tournament which is played every Monday Eve at 7pm in Oran.
St Dominics are 2009 u12 Division 1 League Champions. The u12s completed their league campaign in Hyde Park recently with a convincing win over Roscommon Gaels to win the Division 1 title for the first time in the Clubs history. The league was very competitive with Dom's topping the table of Clan na Gael, Boyle, Padraig Pearses, St. Brigids and Roscommon Gaels. Another magnificent team performance against the Gaels this time in the first half put the Dom's boys well in the lead at half time. All credit to Roscommon Gaels who put in a great effort in the second half with some fine displays. However St Dom's were on top for long periods and again different players stood out on Sunday. The backs were solid throughout, with midfield combining well and some well taken scores upfront. Congratulations to all the lads for their efforts and a special thanks to the parents for their continued support.

Our Div 4 side had a good win on Monday last 22nd at home to St. Ronan's with some great passing and scores to win 5-8 to 1-4. The final match for this team will be away to Roscommon Gaels on Monday 6th July at 7pm. Training continues on Thursday at 7pm. Championship starts 16th August.
With the League now complete its prearation time for the Championship so it is very important that all players attend Training over the coming two Weeks.
Our U-16s lost out to Championship winners Glaveys in the 3 rd round of the League in a very competitive Game in Knockcroghery on Sunday last. Dominics started very well and led by 1-2 to 0-1 after 10 mins but Glayeys then got a Goal against the run of play and this got them back into the contest. Dominics should have added a number of scores before half time but were just off target and we paid the price in the second half as Glaveys took some great scores midway through the second half but Dominics finished strongly scoring five unanswered points but Glaveys were deserving winners on the Day.

Our Junior Team went down to St Faithleaghs in the Championship on Sunday last in Ballyleague. Dominics got off to a bad start coceeding three Goals and were always playing catch up after that but did close the gap to five points and had enough chances to perhaps snatch the Game but they will have to be more clinical in front of Goal and use the Ball quicker.
Junior training as usual this Tuesday and Friday night at 7.30 Pleaes inform Bernie, Kevin or Joe if unable to attend.
The Club offer its Sympathy to the Kelly family Cloontuskert on their recent sad Brevement.
