CLUB NOTES - Sunday 31st August 2008
CHANGE OF TIME.
All Parents please note that Sunday Morning Training for Beginners,U-8,U-10 and U-12 will now revert back to the old time of 12 to 1 o clock.
GLASSES FOUND.
A pair of Boys Glasses were left behind at the Pitch on Saturday last and can be collected from Liam Murphy (086-6390112)
OVERALL CLUB FUNDRAISER.
St Dominics are currently running a Fundraiser with Prizemoney to the Value of €100,000. Tickets are priced at €100. The Draw is been run in Conjunction with the County Board Draw and the Draw will take place on Sat 27th Sept. As the overall cost of running St Dominics Club Annually is now is substancial we would urge that as many as possible to purchase a Ticket from any of our Club Officials and as this is our only Fundraiser this Year, we rely very much on this to continue the Development of our great underage structure as well as the day to day funding of all our Senior Teams.
SENIOR FOOTBALL.
Our Senior Footballers have been drawn to play St Aidans in the relegation play off on Sat 20th Sept.
SENIOR HURLING.
Our Senior Hurlers suffered another defeat on Sunday last when they were defeated by Athleague on a score line of 1-12 to 2-5. This was certainly a Game that Dominics could have won with many scoreable frees missed. The defence played very well all through, as did the midfield up until the last ten minutes but our forwards must turn in more scores. We must now win our remaining two Games to make a semi-final spot.
U-21 FOOTBALL.
Training for all U-21 Players will continue on this Wed at 8pm.Most Players have bee contacted but anyone wishing to come along to Training are welcome.
MINOR FOOTBALL.
Training takes place this Wed at 8pm.
U-12 FOOTBALL.
Training will take place on Sunday mornings and Friday Evenings.Our Football Championship will commence on this Wed Sept 3rd when we play Boyle in Boyle at 7pm. We meet at Knockcroghery Pitch at 5.45pm.
U-10 ORAN TOURNAMENT.
Dominics were crowned Champions on Sunday 24th Aug when they defeated St Ciarans in a thrilling Final by just 1 point. Dominics led by 5 pts at half time but a great second half by the Fuerty Boys brought the Game to a thrilling Final with Michael McGloin scoring the winning point for Dominics.This is an excellently run Tournament by the Oran Minor Football Club and many thanks to Oran for inviting us into the Tournament.
U-8/BEGINNERS FOOTBALL.
Training continues for all U-8 and Beginners on Sunday Mornings from 12 to 1 pm. Note change of time.
CAMOGIE.
Our Under 12 Camogie Team have completed their six championship matches to date.They have played Oran,Pad.Pearses,Ros.Gaels,Tulsk,Four-roads and Athleague.The girls played with great team spirit and determination and have won five out of their six matches.County Finals will be played on 13th Sept.The St Dominic,s U12 Panel consists of:Samantha Coyle,Ann Marie Murry,Susan Coyle,Ciana Kelly,Grainne Connaughton,Niamh Walsh,Aisling Dolan,Aoife Grimmes,Sarah Treacy,Aislinn Farrell,Megan Kenny,Aoife Donoughue,Niamh McSweeney,Elizabeth Downey,Ciara Mullaney,Zara Feeley,Rachel Dolan,Rachel Corcoran.
