CLUB NOTES - Sunday 3rd August 2008
CHANGE OF TIME.
All Parents please note that Sunday Morning Training for Beginners,U-8,U-10 and U-12 will now take place from 12.30- 1.30pm.
IMPORTANT PARKS MEETING.
A Meeting of the Parks Committee will take place on this Tuesday the 5th August at 9.30pm in the Meeting Room. All Committees must be represented.
GOLF SOCIETY MEETING.
A Meeting of the Golf Society will take place on this Wed the 6th August at 9.30pm in the Meeting Room. The Meeting is to Finalise outstanding Classic matters.
GOLF SOCIETY OUTING.
Our Golf society held a very successful Outing to Claremorris on Sat last with 28 Players starting off and 27 finishing (as one withdrew at the water obstacle) The weather was fine and some good scores recorded but the winners list seems to be taking a familiar shape with Michael Dolan again the winner with Albert o Connor and Sean Cox close behind. Michael also claimed the longest drive as he claimed he drove Cattle 3 miles prior to the outing. The Society congratulate Peter Geraghty on winning the Captains prize in Roscommon at the Weekend.
SENIOR FOOTBALL.
Our Senior Footballers took to the Field on Sat last against a much more experienced Ros Gaels outfit. The loss of Michael Finneran,Liam Murray and Alan Craven was just too much of a burden to carry in the end, but to their credit Dominics gave the Gaels a real fright especially in the first half with just a point in it at the break but we could just not take advantage of the breeze in the second half and eventually went down by 5 pts. But being realistic, when the draw was made the Kilmore Game would be the one we would be hoping to Win and the scenario now is if we do that, we not alone stay Senior next Year but we also make it to this Years Quarter Final.The Players are very sharp and Fit and a continued commitment for the next few Weeks will no doubt enable this Team to meet the goals set out at the start of the Year.
U-21 FOOTBALL.
Training for all U-21 Players will continue on this Wed at 8pm.Most Players have bee contacted but anyone wishing to come along to Training are welcome.
MINOR FOOTBALL.
Training takes place this Wed at 8pm.
U-16 FOOTBALL.
Our U-16 Footballers continued their action last week when they participated in the new U-16 County blitz in Kiltoom where the won both their Games and now are in the last Group. These Games will be played this Tuesday evening in Kiltoom.
U-12 FOOTBALL.
Training will take place on Sunday morning from 12.30-1.30. note change of time.
U-10 ORAN TOURNAMENT.
Dominics played St Ciarans last Week and after a very entertaining Game of Football St Ciarans came out on top. Both these Teams have Qualified for the Final which will be played on 27th Aug. Training takes place on Sunday Mornings at the new time of 12.30 to 1.30.
U-8/BEGINNERS FOOTBALL.
Training continues for all U-8 and Beginners on Sunday Mornings from 12.30 to 1 30pm.Note change of time.
