CLUB NOTES - Sunday 13th July 2008
WELL DONE.
Well done to Mark Miley and the Roscommon Junior Footballers and their Management Team on beating Kerry on Sat last and now have reached the All Ireland Final where they play Dublin on July 26th.
CLUB REGISTRATION.
THE Club Membership Registrar is currently been finalised and will be displayed in the Meeting Room and Home Dressing room this Week.
SENIOR FOOTBALL.
Preparations are going well in the build up to our Senior Championship match against Roscommon Gaels. Manager Malachy Gately is getting a full turnout at training and the players are confident within themselves that they can perform on the Senior stage.Training takes place thisWed and Fri at 7.50pm. The Club wish Michael Finneran and the Roscommon Team all the best against Donegal on Saturday.
JUNIOR HURLING.
Our Junior Hurlers played Four Roads in the County Semi-Final on Sunday last in Athleague. Dominics started well and were level after 15 mins with some great free taking from Derek Fallon but from general play we were struggling to create openings and get scores and a slicker Four Roads Team scored some great points to secure Victory. Cathal Donnelly was very sound in Goal,Martin Beirne was outstanding in defence and Derek Fallon and Dan Doolan were the pick of the Forwards.
MINOR FOOTBALL.
Training takes place as usual this Week. All Players please attend. We are doing well in the League and our next Match is on Wed 23rd against Kilmore.
U-16 FOOTBALL.
Training takes place this Friday Evening at 7pm.All Players please attend. The League Semi-Final will be coming up shortly so a full turn out is important.
U-14 FOOTBALL.
We played Oran in the first round of the Championship on Thursday last in Knockcroghery. Oran won the toss and played with the breeze and got off to a great start with two goals in the first five minutes. Dominics were always playing catch up after this and were in hard luck for a couple of Goals themselves. Dominics competed `well in the second half but Oran had aenought of a lead built up to carry them to a deserved victory on the Day.Dominics now play St Brigids this Thursday(17th) in Knockcroghjery at 7pm.Training takes place this Tuesday at 7.30pm all Players please attend..
U-12 FOOTBALL.
St Dominics U-12 Team will represent Roscommon Div 1 in Croke Park on this Thursday 17th July. This is a great Honour for the Club and the Players and they will play 3 Games in Croke Park in a Blitz format with Clubs from other Counties.All Players should have got details but if not contact any of the Managers.
Our U-12 Footballers played Tulsk in Div 3 in Tulsk on Friday last and were unlucky to lose narrowly.This Friday (19th) our Div 1 team play Padraig Pearses in Pearses at 7.30pm. Al Players are requested to be at Knockcroghery at 6 30pm sharp.
U-10 ORAN TOURNAMENT.
On Mon last we played Oran and came out with a deserved Victory..This Wedesday we play St Croans.Training takes place every Sunday Morning from 12 to 1pm.
U-8/BEGINNERS FOOTBALL.
Training continues for all U-8 and Beginners on Sunday Mornings at 12 o clock to 1pm.The weather has been poor the last couple of Weeks but it is great to see the large numbers.
