Brendan Hanley is back to his best again and with new young Players such as Dec Dowling, Danial Byrne and cc Corcoran coming through Dominics are quietly confident of a good run this Year.

Our U-14 Footballers played Padraig Pearses in the League in Knockcroghery on Thursday last and if ever their was a Game of two Halves this was it. Dominics were totally dominant in the first half but could just not finish off the moves, despite this they led by 4 pts at the break with scores from Keith Coyle, Senan Farrell and Darren Donnelly. Pearses were on top for most of the second half and levelled matters midway through the half but Dominics were then awarded a penalty when Sean McGloin was fouled and Donnelly crashed home from the Spot. Dominics only scored one other point and Pearses went on to win by 6 pts. We play Castlerea this Thursday evening in Knockcroghery at 7pm.

U-14 Ladies Football Division 2B Final
Saturday 17th May 2008 - St.Dominics Ladies U-14 team travelled to Kilglass Gaels to compete for the Division 2B title against Oran, the sides had previously met in the league with Oran coming out on top on that occasion. It was cool day which benefited both teams as the game was played at a furious pace from the off. St.Dominics took the lead early on but the determination of the Oran team soon had them back within 3 point at half time. The team talk at half time for Oran paid off as the game was level within the first six minutes of the second half with no response from Dominics. From then on it was point for point with Dominics taking the lead by two points in the dying minutes but the game could have easily gone to Oran as the Dominics backs defended and cleared their lines just as the referee blew the final whistle. St.Dominics 1-10 Oran 2-5. No one could argue with Player of the Match which went to Caroline Gunning (Oran). We would like to thank all who travelled down and supported the girls. Well Done.
