CLUB NOTES - Sunday 21st October
EXECUTIVE MEETING
The next Executive Meeting will take place on Tuesday 30th Oct at 9pm in the Meeting room.Items for the agenda to Larry Shine by Mon 29th.The overall Executive (Club) A.G.M. will take place on Sunday 25th November. All Committees are requested to have their A.G.M.s prior to this.
LAUNCH OF COACHING VIDEO
A new coaching Video for all underage Coaches will be launched on this Wed Night in the Abbey Hotel at 8pm by Willie Hegerty our Coaching and Games Administrator.We would urge as many Underage Coaches as possible to come along on the Night.
GOLF SOCIETY ANNUAL WEEKEND
Our Annual Weekend away takes place this Year on Friday 9th and Saturday 10th November in Donegal.The coarse is Mervue just outside Donegal Town and the Hotel in the Abbey in Donegal Town.Places are limited and anyone interested in Travelling please contact Eddie Miley (086-2561563) by this Weekend.
INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL FINAL
Our Connaught Semi-Final is provisionally fixed for Sunday 11th Nov. It is possible it will be part of a double Header with St Brigids and the Galway Champions at a Galway venue.
TANSEY CUP
We play Fuerty in Athleague this Wednesday Night at 8pm.
U-21 FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
Our U-21 Team played Kilbride in the Quarter Final on Sat last in Knockcroghery.Played in ideal conditions on a perfect surface both Teams fielded strong sides and served up a great Game of Football. Kilbride started the stronger and led by 3 Conor Devanney points but Dominics settled and points from Alan Craven,Willie Doyle and a Seamus McKeown goal had Dominics a point up at the break.The second half was a very even affair with Dominics having the upper hand up until the last five minutes when Kilbride edged two points up and with the very last kick of the Game Dominics had a great chance of a Goal but the shot whizzed the wrong side of the post and with it our U-21 Championship hopes for this Year.However this was a very good footballing performance and all but 1 of the starting 15 are underage again next Year.
UNDER 16 FOOTBALL SEMI-FINAL
Our U-16 Footballers were narrowly defeated by hot Favourites Ballinameen in the U-16 League Semi-Final on Sat last in Tulsk.Dominics played some great football and this young side led for most of the Game but just did not have the luck on the Day and Ballinameen just pipped us in the end.
U-8/U-10 FOOTBALL-
The presentation of Medals to our U-8s and U-10s will take place in Culleen Hall on Sat 3rd Nov. More details next Week.
U-12/U-14 FOOTBALL-
The presentation of Championship Winning Medals to our U-12s and U-14s will take place in Culleen Hall on Sunday 4rd Nov. More details next Week
MINOR LADIES FOOTBALL
Our Minor Ladies played Kilmore on Sunday last in Kilmore. This was a very entertaining open game of Football and could have gone either way but in the end Kilmore held out for a four point Victory. Our next game is on this Saturday in Knockcroghery at 1.30pm against St Faithleaghs.All Players please be at Pitch at 1pm.
