INTERMEDIATE FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP
St. Dominics disposed of St. Ronans on Saturday evening to progress to a semi final meeting with St. Croans. Early points from Liam Murray and Tomas Gilleran gave them a good start and they led until the final whistle. Though the end result was a fair reflection on the day, a lot of improvement is needed to win the county title. Defence was shaky in the first half and only Mark Mileys alertness and Finnerans covering prevented a goal for the men from Ballyfarnon. Indeed Mileys alertness was superb throughout and he's surely due a call up to the County Senior team. Aidan Weir also did well in the heart of defence. The pick of the St. Dominics defence however was Andrew Grady whos tackling was exceptional.
Up front, 6 players scored from play which was encouraging but too often, we delayed the final pass. After the opening half, St. Dominics led 0-6 to 0-4 but the restart brought a renewed energy and Niall Naughtons industrious display resulted in 3 points as well as several assists. Conor Fallon had a quiet game by his standards but a sublime 40 yard pass for Ultan Kellys first score underlined his talents. Overall, the job was to reach the semis and this was accomplished with a minimum of fuss, but we need be at our best for the St. Croans test in a few weeks time.

U-10s Win Oran Tournament.
A very large crowd attended the Finals for the Oran Tournament on Sunday 9th. Eight teams participated over 7 weeks with St Dominics qualifying for the A final versus St. Ciarans.
The panel on the day: John Murray, Derek Doyle, Colm Murray, Mark Coyle, Michael McGloin, Conor Fallon, Liam Kenny, Noel Watson, Eoin McCormack, Donal Egan, Thomas Doyle, Brendan O'Meara, James Finnerty, Ryan Carton, Ronan Kilcline, Sean Kenny, David Gately, Martin Harney, Robert O'Connor, Michael Feeley, Graham Geraghty, Kieran Dockery, Kenneth Byrne, Michael Connaughton, Michael Gavin, Ryan O'Byrne, Darren Finneran, Jack Coyle, Connor Feeney.
All the lads put in a great effort at training and throughout the tournament matches. The A Final matched two well balanced sides. Dominics were off to a flying start with midfield and forwards taking great scores to race into a 5 point lead. Ciarans strong half forward line got them back into the game for a half time score of 1-7 to 0-3. The second half started well for Ciarans with a deflected goal. This is when the Dominics backs showed their talents, and the vocal support of all the Subs, kept Dominics ahead. It was tense to and fro to the end and into injury time with Dominics finishing 4 points clear at 2-10 to 3-3. Congratulations to both teams on a great display of footballing skill beyond their years. We look forward to many such encounters in the future.
Our thanks also to the officials and organisers for keeping this very well organised annual event in our calendars.
